Vermont managed payroll

Payroll handled by people, not handed to you as software.

VEA Payroll runs payroll for Vermont employers. We prepare each pay run, send it to you for review, and process it once you approve — and when something needs sorting out, you talk to a person who already knows your account.

Why employers consider VEA

  • Vermont-based

Built for Vermont employers first, not a national call centre.

  • Managed, not self-service

We do the payroll work rather than giving you a tool to do it.

  • Clear pricing rules

We explain what a quote is based on and what costs extra before you sign.

Who does what in a pay run

Each step has one owner. You stay in control of the decision that matters; the work around it is ours.

How a pay run works

Three steps, and you approve the one that matters.
  1. You send us what changed

New hires, hours, rate changes, bonuses, time off. If your time data feeds payroll, approved hours come across without anyone rekeying them.

  2. We prepare and you approve

We build the payroll and send you a preview to check before anything moves. Nothing is processed until you have approved it.

  3. We process and report

Employees are paid, payroll tax deposits and filings are handled within your agreed scope, and your reports are ready when you need them.

The exact steps for your business are confirmed during onboarding.

Managed payroll with straightforward pricing.

From $179/month + $14 per employee

Starter plan, $199 monthly minimum. Payroll processing, federal and Vermont payroll tax workflows, direct deposit and support included.

Switching

Changing payroll providers is the part people dread

Year-to-date wage and tax balances have to carry over correctly, or W-2s are wrong in January. We treat migration as its own piece of work with its own checks.
  • We reconcile your year-to-date balances before your first payroll, not after.
  • You see a preview and verify the first run against what you expected.
  • We tell you what we need from your current provider, and when.

We don’t publish client quotes until the client has approved the exact words. Until then, the best proof is a conversation.
